Day 38 of 💯

Daniel surveyed the freshly finished kitchen. Everything was perfect, just how Nigel wanted it. Each cupboard that went in, every screw that was tightened, every stroke of the brush. Nigel had overseen the entire project from start to finish. He knew what he wanted, and Nigel shadowed the workers until he got it.

His vision for a monochrome kitchen with a splash of colour was complete. The white walls and cupboards contrasted beautifully with the black granite worktops. The splash of colour wasn’t quite where he’d planned it, but Daniel guessed that the labourer that had finally had enough and buried the screwdriver in Nigel’s skull hadn’t been thinking aesthetically.

Still, the blood splatter did break up the monotony of the wall incredibly well for such a spur of the moment act.

Inspired by Zane Dickens 💯 Story Challenge. Let’s see how long I last. I’ll be self-publishing my stories rather than submitting them to publications.
